Built for Aerospace. Driven by Good People.
You need a partner who understands aerospace manufacturing from the inside out.
WHY WORK WITH SPECTRUM?
We’ve been manufacturing aerospace components long enough to understand what’s at stake.
Our work has evolved alongside increasingly complex aerospace programs, long lead times, and rigid requirements. Each step forward added capability, discipline, and accountability, shaping how we operate today.

Spectrum Machine & Design was built because
respect and accountability shouldn’t be optional.
After years in shops where neither was guaranteed,
Gary Poesnecker created a place that puts people
first, holds high standards, and delivers work
customers can trust.
WHY OUR SHOP EXISTS
OUR STORY
A toolmaker’s way of thinking.
Gary Poesnecker grew up around machining and started working in a tool and die shop as a teenager.
Years spent as a toolmaker shaped how he approached problems: think through the setup first, understand the needs of each part, and plan the process before metal ever touches a machine.
Gary and his wife, Connie, started Spectrum Machine & Design in 1999 in their family garage.
Capital was limited, and the risk was real. For six years, Gary worked two full-time jobs to raise enough money to get the shop off the ground, and sought capital once they had momentum.
Connie continued working another job to carry benefits, and finally joined the business full-time in 2005.
Gary describes this as “the last rope tied to the dock.”
Early work focused on toolmaking: fixtures, gauges, and precision tooling.
That foundation reinforced a disciplined, process-driven approach that later became critical as the work grew more complex.
Over time, our focus narrowed toward aircraft engine components: blades, vanes, blisks, cases, combustors, and rotating parts made from difficult materials.
A few years before 2020, a large aerospace OEM toured our shop and was impressed with our work.
They ordered several one-off engine components valued between $200k-$450k each. These were complex and huge, each taking close to a year to complete, a massive risk for a shop of our size.
But it paid off.
…Which led us to where we are now.

Doing what we
say we’ll do.
It’s what Gary is most proud of: a team that takes ownership, follows through, and does difficult work the right way, every time.
MEET OUR TEAM
The team we’ve built is what makes the work possible.
When you call or email, you’re talking to people who know your project personally and stay close to the work. From engineering through delivery, our team stays engaged to make sure you get exactly what you need, when you need it.
